“Keep You Safe” Session with Cam Mackellar

It was a great privilege to hang with my friend, Cam Mackellar, at the gear cavern which is Linear Recording on Saturday. Cam is working on the follow up to his fabulous Saudade EP. The plan for the day was mainly focussed on tracking drums for three songs but we also had fun putting some guitar bits down and also numerous group hand claps and stomps and stuff. Hands on. Feet too.

It was especially great to hear “Keep You Safe” “Don’t Fear the Fear” coming to life as its our first attempt at a co-write. The song is really Cam’s baby but he was generous enough to knock it back and forth with me to get it into shape. I’m not sure you should do that with a baby. Anyways.

EVVY is back … we’ve just had our first rehearsal since my little accident and right from the off we are sounding huger than ever. We are excited to unleash this thing and let folks in on our ridiculously loud, two-piece secret. We have the love. We have the dirty tunes. We have the very special venue. We will be announcing Gig Number 1 very shortly.

“I Think We Both Know” Now Available – Free!

Today is finally the release date of my debut album I Think We Both Know. I spotted last week that the album found its way onto one of the torrent sites – I actually felt stoked someone liked it enough to want to share it. And subsequently I’ve had various emails from radio stations around the world that I wouldn’t have heard from otherwise. So I guess the point is that sharing is good. And so I’m super keen to share it with the world. I hope you appreciate the generosity and talent of everyone involved and that the album becomes more than just a bunch of digital files to skip through. Live with the songs and let them speak to you. For this week, to celebrate the launch, its FREE! Simply go to store.krismorris.com to have a listen to all the tracks and download the album.

“How can I help?” I hear you ask? Tweet and ask people to retweet. Facebook your fingers off. Casually tell people how your life has been changed by the album while you’re waiting for the bus. Let people know that its free right now and they’d be dang stupid if they don’t get their greasy mitts on it. If you really feel like it you could  donate what you would usually spend on an album. Write comments here on my site letting the world know what you think about it. Go to the digital music store sites, find the album and be the first to write a review on the album. If you love it please share it.

* Your email address is safe with me. You’ll only hear from me with spectacular earth shattering news and I’ll never share your information with anyone. My Data Protection Officer, Billy the Cat, is a tyrant when it comes to this stuff.

“I Think We Both Know” Now Streaming

I’ve been a little busting for everyone to hear the tracks from the album. The problem with having a release date and schedule is that you have the music ready to go and you’re just waiting for promotion and boring stuff to happen. Its very boring. Anyways, without any further ado I hereby unveil ‘I Think We Both Know’ in heavenly streams across the interweb.

Check the tracks peeps! Remember, its available to download from here on April 13, 2009.

You can also visit the full album page with credits and stuff here. Please care and share via Twitter, Facebook, your website, email, smoke signal etc etc

Debut Album Official Release Date – April 13, 2009

Just in case you missed it just before leaving London the master for my debut album I Think We Both Know was delivered into my eager little hands. Every time I’ve listened to it its taken me straight back to Rush House. Memories of all night vocal sessions, Willie working the Wurlitzer (and the lamp), Dan drumming his heart out in the stair well, Matt trying to sneak some interesting notes under the radar, Jesse taking great photos (and retrieving the ball from the prickle patch), sneaking in some FIFA06 between takes, wondering if the cops would bust in any second and tell us to shut up . . . after all I did just tell the landlady we were using the place to take some quiet time out to write music – not setup a band and make a record! Great memories. I’ll start sneaking some videos and pictures and stuff up from the sessions soon too.
